Vyacheslav Gryaznov’s new transcription for two pianos – Rite of Spring by Stravinsky – was performed together with Nikita Mndoyants in the International Festival in Wissembourg (France).

The International Piano-Duo Festival, organized by Vyacheslav Gryaznov and Sverdlovsk Philharmonic, was held in Yekaterinburg. The Festival proved to be an outstanding event in the musical life of the city. Its uniqueness appeared in new and unusual formats. The pianists played not only four-hands and two pianos but also 8 hands and even 16 hands; with choir and percussion; with symphony orchestra. They played both serious pieces and musical jokes; they changed partners. Among the most notable premieres of the Festival are Sviridov’s Snow-Storm (Music Illustrations to A. Pushkin’s Story) in a transcription for two pianos, choir and percussion, and Variations on the theme of Kalinka by V. Gryaznov for 2 pianos with full orchestra.

Vyacheslav Gryaznov’s conducting debut took place in Vladimir, within the Stars of the XXI century concert series. The pianist performed the Concerto 14 by Mozart as a soloist and a conductor at the same time. It was also the first experience of such kind for the musicians of Vladimir Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra.
Two volumes of piano transcriptions by Gryaznov have been released by the world’s leading music publisher Schott Music, and have been presented at the international exhibition in Frankfurt.
